The career of Nikki Cox began in the early years, when she performed on stage at age four in various ballet performances. While living in Los Angeles, she continued to be in the entertainment business alongside her mother, who was her manager. Her first role that was acknowledged was in an episode on the comedy “Mama’s Family” (NBC/Syndicated 1983-1990) in 1987. In the following years, she appeared in one-off parts on several shows which included “Star Trek: The Next Generation” (Syndicated 1987-1994), “Night Court” (NBC 1984-1992) and “Murphy Brown” (CBS 1988-1998). Then, at the beginning of the 1990s, she played an unimportant part in the film “Terminator 2: Judgment Day” (1991). From 1993 until 1995, she was a regular in”General Hospital”, a show on ABC “General Hospital” (ABC 1963from 1963 to ). When her stint on the soap ended, Cox starred as middle child Tiffany Malloy on the sitcom “Unhappily Ever After” (The WB from 1995 to 2000).

Her first acting role was at the age of 10. In this time she was cast in shows such as “Baywatch,” “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” “Mama’s Family,” “Eerie,” “Indiana,” and “Blossom.”

In her teens, Cox began to book regular roles on shows like “General Hospital” and “California Dreams.” This string of television roles eventually brought her to her first breakthrough when she was offered the role of prime-time Tiffany Malloy on the sitcom “Unhappily Ever After.” The show ran for five seasons from 1995 between 1995 and 1999. In the end, the show was cancelled, and Nicole continued to play prostitutes on another sitcom titled “The Norm Show.” The show ran for three seasons; however Nikki was able to find her new role on “Nikki.” Nikki played the titular the lead role in the new sitcom. However, it was only on for two seasons prior to being removed in 2002.

In the year 2003 Cox has been booked in for another part in a recurring series, as Mary Connell in the NBC drama “Las Vegas.” Cox left the show in the final season ended in 2007, but her character did appear in an episode that was a crossover from “Passions.” In the course of this time she was a spokesmodel for a gaming site. Following the conclusion the film “Las Vegas,” she was offered a voice-over part in the game “Leisure Suit Larry: Box Office Bust.” The game turned out to be a box office failure that received overwhelmingly negative reviews. The year was the same, Cox appeared in a film titled “Lonely Street.” Later, Nikki received a Grammy Award nomination for Best Comedy Album, as she was the sole author on Jay Mohr’s Album “Happy. And A Lot.”
